Dacia Gallery is pleased to announce its Artist Residency program for Fall 2015, in the art capital of the world, New York City. This two-week figure painting intensive program will comprise of drawing and painting the figure from life, guest lecturers, a business of art course, gallery and museum visits, and a group exhibition of your figurative art at Dacia Gallery.
Artists will meet daily at its Artist Studio under teacher instruction. The Art Studio is located in the heart of New York City among all the major galleries in the city, providing maximum exposure to today’s contemporary art scene. Art walks will be taken throughout Chelsea and Lower East Side during opening receptions to explore today’s contemporary art scene. Weekends will include visits to several of New York’s esteemed art museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art and the Frick Collection. Additionally, Dacia Gallery will host a group exhibition for the participating resident artists at its gallery in the hottest area for the arts today, the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Dacia Gallery invites artists to participate in an exciting figure painting Artist Residency program in New York City. Dacia's Artist Residency provides an academic program to inspire, refine and redefine the creative direction of artists in a painting intensive two-week program. The application is open to visual artists worldwide, including all mediums and styles of artwork. We are accepting artists that want to dedicate their time to painting, learning the ins and outs of the New York art world and exploring all the wonderful opportunities that the city has to offer artists. Art classes will alternate between figurative painting and drawing, the business of art, guest speakers and lecturers. We will explore the contemporary art galleries of Chelsea and the Lower East Side and visit the great museums of New York. Additionally, an exhibition and opening reception will be held for the participating resident artists at Dacia Gallery. This is a wonderful opportunity to study and paint in NYC. Bring a Friend: Artists have asked if they can attend the residency with another artist friend or with a spouse. The answer is yes. If you and a friend are interested in attending and sharing housing that's wonderful. This will be an exciting arts adventure and fun to share with someone. Some of the artists attending the residency are bringing friends or spouses with them to New York.
