The time has come to keep our appointment with the highest expressions of excellence from the world of furnishing and design. During the Milanese event that took place from 14 to 19 April, Colico showed functional furnishing solutions with a contemporary twist. A special area hosts the real protagonists of this installation: brand new products that have recovered the European design tradition alongside bestsellers revisited for the occasion.
The Milano 2015 chair, designed in 2010 as a tribute to Expo 2015, celebrates this important landmark with an innovative mat textured soft touch finish and the introduction of new colors.
Sheet metal strips of various sizes cover each end of Colico’s new oak table, Acqua Alta. Its name refers to the Venetian custom of repairing wood tables by adding pieces of metal to replace the parts ruined by floodwater.
Lusitania has inspired the new chair by Colico, a fascinating product that provides an original interpretation of the “Cadeira Portuguesa” using innovative materials and technology. Developed in collaboration with Portuguese architect Nuno Ladeiro, this project experiments the reproduction of a traditional Portuguese chair in a modern key.
The new burst of energy that has taken over Colico in the course of the last year coincides with the company’s 95th anniversary, bringing with it a significant transformation of image, style and product offering.
The modern styling of the Pure table, interpreted in two compositional versions, is enlivened by 12 mis-matched chairs: in a natural or lacquer finish, they create a convivial atmosphere in a spacious interior. Country style and asymmetric lines for the Mad table in brushed oak by Giovanna Azzarello, teamed up with Rapwood chairs consisting of a polypropylene shell assembled on oak legs.
Total relaxation in a refined and elegant interior. The Asami sofa system, a bestseller now being presented in an updated version, is complete with sumptuous decorative cushions in fabric, velvet and leather. Bark textured steel for the base and marble for the top, the Cocò side table adds a luxurious touch of contemporary design.
Slash Oak, in its counter top version, is teamed up with two opposite rows of Tom stools mounted with a smoke-coloured cork seat, and Pedalò in a Corten finish. Colico interprets workspaces in a relaxed and spontaneous mood, to mark the Workplace 3.0 Biennial event.
The simple, hospitable style of the more recent collections by Colico is penetrating new market areas such as the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Spain and Portugal. A clientele that is extremely attentive towards the quality of materials and finishes, constantly on the lookout for innovative and good-looking solutions.
