The 13th Brussels Film Festival opens Friday, June 5th in Flagey with the screening of the film La Loi Du Marche in the presence of director Stephane Brizé and lead actor Vincent Lindon, who was recently awarded with the prize for best actor in Cannes.
The official jury is composed of French director Christian Carion, Belgian director Olivier Masset-Depasse, Italian actress Antonella Salvucci, Belgian actress Erika Sainte, and the Flemish actor Wim Willaert. French director Jacques Doillon, special guest for this year will give a masterclass which will be hosted by Inès Rabadan and Véronique Jadin (ARFF) on Monday, June 8th at 5pm in Flagey. He will then introduce the screening of his film Mes séances de lutte at 7pm in Cinematek, as an introduction to a retrospective dedicated to him, which runs until August 21st. Mes séances de lutte will be in cinemas from June 10th, and will be simultaneously available via VoD thanks to UniversCiné, partner of the festival.
Other guests coming to Brussels include: director Alain Choquart and actor Jérémie Renier to present their film LadyGrey, French filmmaker Denis Dercourt for his film En équilibre, the English director Morgan Matthews with his film X + Y - Le Monde de Nathan, Dutch director Sacha Polak for her film Zurich, French director Christine Carrière with the film Une mère, Polish actress Justyna Suwa?a for the film Body, the Swiss director Stina Werenfels with her film Dora, Luxembourg filmmaker Donato Rotunno for the film Baby(a)lone, the Swedish director Beata Gardeler for her film Flocking, Polish actress Barbara Kurzaj for the film Kebab & Horoscope, the German filmmaker Christian Frosch for the film Rough Road Ahead, etc. The directors Stéphane and Guillaume Malandrin and the entire cast led by Bouli Lanners and Wim Willaert will present their new film, Je suis mort mais j'ai des amis, during a festive evening organized in collaboration with the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles on Wednesday June 10th. Brussels Film Festival will again present a Ciné-concert, ZONE LIBRE REVISITS on Saturday, June 6th at 8pm in Flagey.
