Armen "Rmen" Papikyan has made a career in NYC as a vocalist, singer, songwriter and bandleader rooted in jazz song, R&B and soul and collaborating with musicians, artists, DJs on both east and west sides. When Rmen and Lilia Kay met at a jazz music collage in Armenia 20 years ago, they learned they had much in common in terms of musical tastes and improvisational propensities. Both grown up listening to jazz, soul, disco, R&B and Motown but liked all different kinds of music: electronic, rock-and-roll, classic rock, classical as well as a lot of music for films and music from all different countries. Both moving to USA their remain good friends and always share musical ideas.
Their new single "Love Affair" combines a mid-tempo track with a blend of house rhythms, soul/funk with an edgy new vibe and was put together on different coasts in different studios. Rmen's soulful but smooth voice brings a pure clarity and range of his tenor range while Lilia possesses a delicate singing voice that she likes to keep it pleasant and clear. Not only does the track find Kay's smooth tones mingling with Rmen's but also showing harmonic and artistic growth.
EYES IN™ Magazine will be able to host music clips on our upcoming newly designed website. For now, please enjoy Rmen's "Sunny."
