The Unseen is an exploration house that blends biological and chemical matter into materials;
focused on seeing the unseen by combining science with art, design and performance. Their incredible color changing leather Air Collection is currently on display at the Somerset House in London.
The Unseen believes technology is magic. Their vision is to create a world of seamlessly
captivating science; through exquisite couture, luxury products and opulent materials, for the believer searching for special pieces and unique experiences. The Unseen Emporium The House opens its doors to the magical world of science fused with design. The Emporium is one of the first quartiers to merge scientific innovation and material craft, with a bodily library where visitors can be fully immersed in knowledge whilst surrounded by iconic relics treated with Unseen magick.
Their widely anticipated Artefact collection, materials & bespoke made-to-order commodities
are on hand for the curious. Workshops, events and private bookings will also be available.We hope

Currently In Exhibition: Air
1. The Air collection - a series of hand-crafted leather sculptures responding to their
environment in colour change.
2. The Unseen Swarovski - a 4000 piece gemstone headdress that reads brain activity,
portraying distinctive colour states of the individual’s thought process.
3. Eighthsense – The dress that reveals the Aura by interpreting human magnetism and
emotions by reading brainwaves. ( Private bookings to see your own Aura can be made below )
4. The materials library - A hands-on physical glimpse into the research, methods, rituals, trials and
tribulations of The Unseen journey.
About The Unseen
The Unseen was founded by Alchemist Lauren Bowker. Having graduated from the Manchester
School of Art with the award winning pollution sensing compound PdCl2, she went on to study printed textiles at the Royal College of Art London, creating several additional chromic colour-change inks,portrayed through provoking pieces shot by Tim Walker and modeled by Kate Moss, as well as magic materials and extraordinary experiences within automotive, medical, textiles and couture.The Unseen has exhibited worldwide, from London Fashion week to The Royal Academy of
Engineering, The Chicago Science Museum, The V&A and the Barbican.
Whilst receiving numerous significant awards and acknowledgement, such as HClub100 creative entrepreneur of the year, BFC and TSB winner of digital innovation in fashion, TED fellow Lauren also sits on the Board for the European Council for the Internet of Things. Recently, Lauren was recently invited to Ten Downing Street while appearing frequently on BBC World news, BBC global news and the Radio 4 Today programme.
About Somerset House
Somerset House is a spectacular neo-classical building in the heart of London, sitting between the
Strand and the River Thames. Since opening to the public in 2000, Somerset House has produced a
distinctive public programme that annually draws over 2 million visitors to the site, providing a centre for arts and culture in the heart of London, as well as housing numerous creative communities.
The varied, year-round programme includes an open air film and concert season and ice rink, as well as temporary exhibitions focusing on contemporary fashion, design, art and architecture, family workshops and free guided tours. In September 2009, Somerset House became the new home of London Fashion Week.
