Rosario Dawson, recently seen in the collage film 9 Kisses, celebrated at an intimate event which previewed Time to Rise, which is anticipated to premier in New York City in the Spring 2015. The event was supported by Miami Golden Properties and Melissa Shoes, took place during Art Basel Miami, and was held at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach.
Artist Paris Kain presented a site-specific experiential installation at the event, which featured visuals from his film Time to Rise. The conceptual film was created in honor of Allan Buchman’s CULTUREPROJECT.org and Eve Ensler’s V-DAY.ORG to help shine a light on women’s rights issues. The film stars actress and activist Rosario Dawson who works to raise awareness and create opportunities for marginalized communities throughout the world. In Kain's adaptation of the ancient Egyptian resurrection myth of Isis and Osiris, in which Isis resurrects her dead husband Osiris, she resurrects herself, as Matriarch.
The event was sponsored by Miami Golden Properties, a real estate development company with luxury projects in the South Florida area. Led by President Jacob Abramson, Miami Golden Properties selects and assembles teams of the most unique and modern innovators and creators, including award winning global architect Chad Oppenheim to create bespoke architectural projects. Jacob Abramson of Miami Golden Properties was inspired by artist Paris Kain’s use of symbolism in his film Time to Rise. Kain’s exploration of symbolism and myth serves to energize an upcoming three-dimensional collaboration with Miami Golden Properties innovative art informed designs.
