Beauty and Winners at British Fashion Awards 2011
The Savoy was home to the glittering British Fashion Awards 2011 and while fashion was the main focus, the beauty caught our attention too.
Red lips and smoky eyes were the looks du jour. Stella McCartney, Poppy Delevigne, Olivia Palermo, Laura Bailey, Amber Le Bon and Victoria Beckham worked an eye (bet VB regretted that, when she became tearful accepting her award for Best Designer Brand). Olivia’s sultry, smoky make-up was played down by a simple chic parted up-do – an understated, yet beautiful look to take inspiration from during the upcoming festive season.
Designers Louise Gray and Charlotte Dellal, as well as Kate Moss each chose a classic red lip. At award ceremonies like the Oscars a red lip often looks retro and chic; at The British Fashion Awards each of the red lips looked fresh and modern thanks to attendee’s eclectic style.
At the other end of the beauty spectrum Alexa Chung and Georgia May Jagger paired back their make-up to stunning effect, proving sometimes less is more. Georgia chose a hazy peach-bronze eye and natural lips, while Alexa looked fresh-faced with just a slither of liner and freshly washed softly disheveled hair.
Victoria Beckham, Sarah Burton and Christopher Kane won top honors at the 2011 British Fashion Awards.
